Principal's message
Hello George J. Peters Community,
I am delighted to embark on this new academic year together. Additionlly, I am eager to collaborate with each of you and to ensure a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our students. At Peters, we are committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Encouraging positive attitudes will help our students approach challenges with optimism and perseverance, fostering a growth mindset that leads to greater success.
Students should plan to arrive at George J. Peters at 8:20 AM, which is the time that supervision begins (not earlier) and doors are opened. Arriving at that time gives your child the opportunity to have breakfast at school and to get organized in their classroom. Students must be in their classrooms, ready to learn, by 8:35 AM. The formal school day begins at 8:35 AM and ends at 2:50 PM. Students are to report to school each day, on time. A tardy or absence can impact a child’s academic achievement. Teacher interactions and peer collaborative learning experiences are important factors in your child’s day at school.
Any person picking up a student must present an ID before your child is released. At any time throughout the school year, if your child’s normal dismissal changes please notify the school in writing and make sure any new responsible adults are prepared to present ID. Any person picking up a child must be listed in the child’s Emergency Contacts page. For safety purposes no cars are allowed in the front of the school - it is a Bus Only Lane. All visitors must press the buzzer at the entrance and speak with the main office.
I am thrilled to join this wonderful community, and I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you! I can't wait to witness the growth and achievements of our students. Let's work hand in hand to ensure their success and happiness throughout their academic journey. Let’s make this academic year a memorable and successful one together!
Warm regards,
Ms. Gianfrancesco
